Lemon Luck

So those of you who were with me last year will recall the Year Of Towing. Last year I spent nearly $2000 on a car worth less than that. Don't ask me why. I was NEVER able to determine the problem. Everything we fixed was supposed to keep the car running. Instead, it would just die randomly, start up again just fine a short time later, and then die mysteriously all over again one, two, ten days later. Not exactly reliable transportation.

My father took the car under his wing and tried for his own $500 to discover what was wrong with it. I actually don't know where or how the car is at this point. And really, I don't want to know.

So, what do I drive now you ask? I drive the car that Brian bought for me. Yes, a few weeks ago he took on the task of being my personal car shopper. The best fixit man alive, he shopped the fliers, the classifieds, and eBay. And then about 2 weeks later, 3 days before my birthday, he showed up on my doorstep with a car just for me! Having forged my name on the paperwork at the dealership, he told the salesman that we were engaged; we weren't at the time. Shortly thereafter (6 days), we were, however. I was so ecstatic! A car that actually worked, with my name on the title and my own license plate. My mom remarked, "Can you tell he's in love, or what?"

Unfortunally a few weeks later, that car too had problems, but Brian again came to the rescue and the car IS NOW IN PERFECT WORKING CONDITION! However, Brian and I are both wondering at my luck with cars. Thankfully, I am marrying a man who knows cars inside and out, so hopefully that will counter balance my gravitational properties to attract lemons.
