Things are getting better

So things are getting better. My last post was basically all about complaining. I was feeling pretty poorly about my life - even with all my blessings. Either I'm not busy enough or I'm so busy that I can't stand it. Either way I complain!

Enough is enough. Most things in my life are great. The things that I might complain about will all work themselves out in the end. Brian and I have had a few good days of focusing on us which has helped tremendously. I have started to work from home part time, which has helped too.

The only other big news is that when Brian and I went to the bank to add me to the checking account, the bank already had my social security number used under another name for a credit card. I had to wait for the bank to try and contact the card holder to check if it was just a mixed up over mistyped number. However, after the weekend they hadn't heard back and have cancelled the card and will be contacting the credit bureaus. I myself went and printed out my credit reports, but the card itself didn't show up on my history. The card was opened Nov. 2001, and I have certainly checked my reports after that, so I don't think it has appeared on it before. It must really be a mixed up. But it was scary to learn about!

I don't understand how the card could be approved when the name and the social don't match, but I'm glad we're getting it cleared up now. Brian and I also opened a money market emergency fund. We're trying to get grounded and to prepare financially for the baby.

Wait, that's not the only big news ... Brian got a new job with a raise and a career promotion. He threw a couple of resumes out just to try and got an interview. He will probably start next week sometime. (So another change for us, but hopefully a good one.) He had gotten a part-time job delivering pizza for extra baby cash, which he thinks he might keep on weekends. He is a bound and determined man. Stubborn, loving, irritating, affectionate man. Things are getting better.
