Life notes

What I miss most right now, besides my car, is routine. With my car, I had about a month of a regular routine down. Now we are entering November and December which I know will not be regular months because of Thanksgiving and Christmas. My car has been at the shop for the past week or so, and they cannot figure out what is wrong with it. I think it might be the computer itself, so diagnosis could be hard and expensive. We'll see. In the mean time, I've been depending on my parents van, which means I spend the majority of the time at their house, eating their food, using their washing machine, and their intenet on their computer. Which is why I haven't been blogging. Dial up is so hard to go back to when I'm used to wireless cable. At my parents house, my laptop is a really expensive DVD player.

Next weekend I'm planning on going up to Chicago to visit with Kurt and Mieko. John asked for a ride for himself and his girlfriend. I was looking forward to just seeing Kurt and Mieko, and not John. But this way, I can feel like I'm not avoiding John for the last drunken incident we had together where I accidentally kicked him in the kidney. Yeah. Well, I still say he deserved it for the lewd and disgusting comment he made about me, but I didn't mean to hurt him that much.

IN OTHER EXCITING NEWS!!!!! I'm 50% done making my OWN Regency petticoat by hand!!!!! (Quoted at $90 on another website.) No sewing machine. A needle, thread, scissors, muslin, an iron, and the pattern are all I've used. Oh, also some plastic boning for the "built-in bra." In 1810 it would be whale bone, but plastic works too. Basically its an under dress with a built in bra. Total cost of petticoat: $20. Hours spent: 15 (Stayed up all night sewing the first night). If I keep up the rate I have been working, I could have my Regency gown done in time for Halloween. We'll see. I'm so happy and proud. I'll definately post pictures when I get done. The petticoat is actually quite modest. I'm so proud of me!
