pinta (pin'ta) n. a contagious skin disease of the tropics, characterized by patches of various colors and caused by a spirochete

Not to get too deep into etymology or anything, but after knowing what the answer is, I thought of a pinto bean or a pinto horse, both of which are patchy with color.

Have you ever listened to Says You on NPR. I love that program. It plays on our local station Saturday mornings. Now that I actually get up before 11 am, I think I am going to get to do all sorts of things that I didn't get to do before. Then again, I'm trying to get to bed by 10:30 or so, which means missing lots of other things. It all evens out in the end.

Just try not to get sick with pinta the next time you visit the South Pacific tropics.

Oh, and just so you know, I made up definition c - the feathered quill answer. The other definitions came from the dictionary:

pink - a sailing vessel with a high narrow stern.
pipit - any of various small insectivorious birds
pica - abnormal craving to eat substances not fit for food, as clay or paint
piaffe - a movement in horsemanship in which the animal executes the motions of a slow trot in place
and I can't seem to find the word I used which means the agave plant one. Anybody care to try?
