Rusty looks like some sort of adolescent lab, but he is really a 4 year old mutt - of cockerspaniel and husky parentage. He has little "feathers" of fur sticking out from his paws, which matches his long light amber hair.
While we used to think Rusty wasn't the smartest dog in the world, we have since come to know once he learns something, it sticks with him. What he isn't good at is solving problems. Rusty knows how to jump on command, to bark at strangers until he gets the ok, hold food on his nose, shake paws, stay out of the kitchen, the beginnings of heeling, and that go means leave. If his leash gets tangled, though, there is no hope for him with out someone's help.
Rusty loves burrying bones, wrestling with Zini (our other dog), and sleeping. Can the dog ever sleep! He loves couches and will spend all afternoon curled up with his head on the decorative pillow, putting it to its proper use. Rusty doesn't like rain or snow, and while he loves going on a walk for a while, if you push him too much he gets pretty tired and obviously wants to be at home for a nice nap.
In the picture, you can see how he has his head propped up on the leg of the dining room table. He has several "spots" around the house, and this is one.

Glorious Saint Gerard, because, like your Divine Master, you bore without murmur or complaint the calumnies of wicked men when falsely accused of crime, you have been raised up by God as the patron and protector of expectant mothers. Preserve me in the dangers of motherhood, and shield the child I now bear, that it may be brought safely to the light of day and receive the sacrament of baptism.
